What are the properties of wire and powder based LMD deposited IN718 samples?

Challenge and Motivation

• Currently, there are few direct comparisons of wire and powder based deposited samples available.
• Both the required process parameters and resulting properties are important for a valid comparison.

Objective

• Determination of properties (defects, tensile strength) of wire based deposited IN718 samples.
• Comparison of resulting properties of (new) wire and (former – 2016 P7) powder based deposited samples.
