Challenge and Motivation
- Grinding CMC materials requires wear resistant grinding wheel specifications due to the high forces and good dressability due to the geometric requirements.
- A simultaneous fulfillment of both maximum wear resistance and dressability is not possible with current grinding wheel specifications.
Objective
- Investigation of different grinding wheel specifications regarding their economic potential when grinding CMCs.
