What is required to design a digital and physical efficient repair process chain?
Challenge and Motivation
- Advanced repair processes reestablish high performance and increase component life-time.
- Used components are in undefined geometric shape (e.g. distortion, wear, ablation) resulting in a unique and adaptive repair process chain.
- Especially in between additive and subtractive processes data consistency is important to enable efficient processes.
Objective
- Identification of reasons for objection at industry.
- Benchmarking of existing repair use-cases focusing on data consistency, reasonable repair processes as well as pre-/ post-machining.
