  • Due to the larger radius, barrel tools can realize higher width of cut by at the same time, achieving surface roughness values like ball end mills.
  • Higher force leads to higher deflection of the tool and workpiece

Objective

  • Development of a methodology capable to predict deflections produced by barrel tools.
  • Experimental and simulation-based comparison of blade machining with barrels regarding deflection.
