How can productivity in LPBF be increased while maintaining part quality using adaptive process control?
Challenge and Motivation
- Low productivity is one of the main deficits of LPBF.
- Increasing productivity is accompanied either by an unacceptable loss in part quality (e.g. increased porosity, reduced surface quality) or by a costly change in machine hardware (e.g. new laser beam source, multilaser LPBF machine).
Objective
- Development of LPBF build strategies to increase productivity while maintaining part quality using adaptive & geometry specific LPBF process control.
